Struts are a structural part of the suspension system and are mounted to the chassis of the vehicle on the top, and they come down through. They give a place to mount the coil spring, and the spring is what maintains the height of the vehicle. It also replaces the upper control arm and it connects directly to the knuckle on the car.
Strut performs a shock damping function like shock absorbers. Internally, a strut is similar to a shock absorber. A piston is attached to the end of the piston rod and works against hydraulic fluid to control spring and suspension movement.
Strut with Spring
Will be tested to ensure the strut is straight
Will be checked for fluid leaks around the piston
A self contained suspension piece incorporating a coil spring and shock absorber together. Other names: (Air Strut, Front Strut, Rear Strut). Near where the wheel goes. These things are heavy but can go UPS so keep that in mind. Just verify the customer wants 'just the strut' and they are not expecting the HUB or wheel or rotors or calipers etc. Also, make sure whether or not they need the springs as shown in pic and if the distributors include Normally the distributors include the springs but MAKE SURE
