The starter motor is a powerful electric motor that provides the initial impulse to turn over the engine to start it. It requires a very high current to crank the engine, which is why it is attached to the battery with large cables. When the ignition key is turned to the start position the battery voltage goes through a circuit to energize the starter motor.
Major Role
A starter motor is an electric motor, pneumatic motor, hydraulic motor or other device for rotating an internal combustion engine so as to initiate the engines operation under its own power. Engines are feedback systems which once started, rely on the inertia from each cycle to initiate the next cycle.
